WRS Bottle Bank Collection Systems

Bottle Bank Module   PDA Records   WRMS Produces Schedule   WRMS Reports

Our bottle bank module enables the optimising of collections through recording fill levels and calculating through algorithms the next projected collection date.

The module records how full a bank is at any given point, and whether it was emptied or not. If there are multiple banks at a site, then the fullest bank would be recorded and the site would be collected based on the fullest bank. How full the banks are will be able to be recorded in 10% intervals.

Irish based Rehab Glassco has introduced industrial mobile PDA technology to manage the drivers and tasks for all day-to-day operations including vehicle checks, daily work schedule/tasks and collection confirmation with photographic evidence. All data is sent back LIVE via GPRS (HSDPA) to the server based WRMS application that manages the collection rounds, reporting and invoicing.

A web based interface allows customers councils to log into the system and obtain Real Time data on collections including photographic evidence. Rehab Glassco offers a nationwide collection and recycling service for all types of waste glass and cans. Collections range from pubs, hotels, and restaurants, to office blocks, apartments and housing developments. A range of materials from Bottles and jars to car windscreens and mirrored glass are collected by a number of specialised trucks specifically designed for emptying bottle banks, can banks and bring sites for local authorities.

Zeki Mustafa – Managing Director of Rehab Glassco introduced the Psion Teklogix rugged Ikôn PDA mobile computer and software solution from WRS to help optimise collections of the bottle banks by recording fill levels and calculating through algorithms the next projected collection date. The module records how full a bank is at any given point, and whether or not it was emptied. If there are multiple banks at any one site, then the fullest bank would be recorded and the site would be collected based on the fullest bank. Zeki said “The WRS system in conjunction with the Psion Teklogix Ikôn has not only dramatically helped to improve efficiencies within the company it has also helped us promote our services to market by being able to offer data in Real Time on collections and fully
automated reporting with a customer login.”

Andy Halse – managing director of WRS, says we recommended the Ikôn from Psion Teklogix for this project as the unit offers a great deal of functionality packaged in a compact form with class-leading ergonomics, aesthetics, and ease of use. With its large VGA screen, Ikôn is suitable for complex applications with sophisticated graphics and can be easily read in all lighting conditions. Finally, a high battery capacity ensures full-day productivity for
mobile workers.
